Welcome back to another episode of Thinking That Matters. In this episode, I had the pleasure of sitting down with my colleague and friend, Chad Rothermich, to delve into his diverse and fascinating business background. Chad shared his journey through various career paths, starting from his early days in sales as a fourth-grader selling wrapping paper to his ventures in book selling, construction, insurance sales, automotive finance, and industrial manufacturing management.

One key theme that emerged from Chad's story was his ability to think broadly, a skill he attributes to his upbringing with a theater teacher mother and a coach father. This broad thinking led Chad to constantly challenge himself and seek new opportunities for growth and learning. Despite achieving success in various fields, Chad emphasized the importance of aligning one's career with personal fulfillment and lifestyle goals, which led him to make strategic career shifts along the way.

As Chad transitioned into coaching and training roles, he discovered a passion for helping others develop their mindset, skills, and systems. Through his coaching experiences, Chad highlighted the significance of remaining curious and open-minded, especially when faced with challenges or obstacles. He emphasized the value of embracing the journey towards a goal, rather than solely focusing on the end result, as true fulfillment lies in the process of growth and learning.

Three key takeaways from our conversation:

  • Embrace Broad Thinking Early On

  • Be Open to Pivot and Evolve

  • Focus on the Journey, Not Just the Destination
