Inspired by Redwall, M.A. Phillips started writing in middle school and received her first rejection letter from Penguin! That didn't stop her though, M.A. continued writing with Naruto fanfic before breaking into fabulism (#Witchlit!). Her deep love of paganism and plants took her to the query trenches, where she pitched her first book, River Magic. Eventually, M.A. stumbled upon Shadow Spark Publishing!
