JOZZY breaks down her journey from being a closeted kid in Memphis to being one of the most celebrated artists/songwriters in music all while creating safe spaces and trailblazing for masc queer women along the way. You know when you know of an artist before they get all popular and feel like you’ve been able to watch them grow and gain so much love and you’re just PSYCHED for them?? That’s how I feel about Jozzy but she’s also been a very good friend for many years as well as an incredible artist I love. Watching her go from behind the scenes songwriter making ends meet to winning Grammy’s & writing iconic songs for BEYONCE, LIL NAS X, PHARRELL, MADONNA, and SZA...Plus finally getting to take the stage and be celebrated as an artist herself has been so inspiring and I couldn’t be happier watching someone so humble and down to Earth win. A true testament that no matter where you come from, you can make your dreams come true if you stay focused. Hope you like this one<3 00:00 Intro 04:41 Finding a balance between safety and authenticity growing up in Memphis, Tennessee 12:05 Obstacles & perks of being a masc gay woman in music 19:58 No Plan B’s 23:01 STRAIGHT MEN NEED HELP 23:54 Finally being seen as an artist & signing to Puff Daddy 44:15 Dream Creative Zone
