On today’s episode, I am pleased to meet with my good friend, Angel Alzona, a multifaceted creative and all around incredible human being. We first explore the start of our friendship and are honest about the misjudgment that can happen when meeting people in LA but thankfully, later developing a bond over the pandemic and getting to truly get to know one another rather than basing a title on someone from their job title or outside appearance. Angel, originally from Chicago, shares her raw journey of coming out as a lesbian, self-discovery, and navigating this new found identity with friends, family, and God. Since moving to LA, she has been living as her most authentic self and finally found that missing piece she had been searching for since she was a little girl. Upon reflecting, Angel gives advice on how family and friends can support their loved ones coming out, emphasizing grace and curiosity. We also discuss the growth process that happens after going through a breakup, the importance of self-worth, and realizing that love presents itself in many forms. As allies or if you are a member of the LGBTQ+ community, we urge you to let people feel seen, heard and loved without judgement!
