This week the Doctor is in the house to raise his cup to the 1995 house-party standard "This Is How We Do It" by Montell Jordan. The mid 90s were aplenty with gangsta rap and soul/r&b hits, so when this crossover track came out of nowhere, its success didn't raise too many eyebrows. A deeper look shows that Jordan's street cred and rise to fame may not have been as genuine as his image implied. Why did Montell leave the music business at the height of his career? Which prolific Hollywood director was instrumental in this song becoming a number one hit? Are you an OG mack or a wannabe player?
