"Never Defeated"

I was confronted this week with whether to publish a new piece or re-visit a previously published piece.
Concurrently, I battled with whether to deliver an episode that addressed my personal issues as it relates to family, or deliver a piece that addresses the seemingly perpetual struggles that afflictsMY PEOPLE as a whole.
I chose the latter.
Wh?, Because it angers and confounds me that WE are continually presented with battles that have previously been won through the blood, and sweat, and oftentimes lives, of our ancestors.
So , I chose to re-publish
"Never Defeated"
as an admonition to those who persistently question our fortitude through the abominable acts and the "placing of their knee on our necks" in hopes that WE will succumb to a hatred that is clearly provoked by racism.
More importantly, I chose to republish this episode in hopes of reinvigorating and hardening the will of those of us who have resorted to accepting and abiding in that place referred to as " IT IS WHAT IT IS"!!
In all humility, as I revisited my earlier episodes, I felt a stirring, that evoked feelings of the significance and relevance of the spirit inspired words contained within each.
Re-visiting them also inspired me to cast aside those thoughts of stepping away for a moment from my weekly episodes of The Spoken Word.
Why? Because I know within my heart that...GOD ain't finished with what HE is doing through me!!

The continuing attempts to "keep us in our place" continues, unabated.
They continue in their relentless efforts to relegate us to a position of irrelevance.
"Never Defeated"
simply highlights OUR abilities to recognize the persistent threat that is present and OUR inherent abilities to rise above each and every obstacle that is thrust into our paths...THAT'S GOD!!!
