Every individual exists in a system, and if we are not addressing the whole system, are we really helping the person at all? Understanding the whole family system is vital for any counseling work, but particularly for addiction recovery work, and especially where sex addiction and betrayal trauma are involved. Counseling through Betrayal Trauma takes a hard look at both addicted person and their wounded partners in the context of their whole family system. As counselors, social workers, and other practitioners, we have a responsibility to consider and address the whole system, in service of the individual, to the greatest extend possible. In this episode, Rhys shares reflections and highlights from the Module 2 training of the Certified Sex Addiction Therapist training through the International Institute of Trauma and Addiction Professionals. Listen, comment, and let's keep the conversation going! This episode features the following professionals: Rhys Pasimio - www.newpatterncounseling.com Joshua Moore - https://neurofeedbackcare.com/ The Master’s in Counseling program at Multnomah University, Alternative Behavioral Therapy and New Pattern Counseling present this podcast as a resource for aspiring and current professionals, as well as members of the greater community.
