Doug Sohn Talks Sausage
Doug Sohn is the owner of one of Chicago’s food gems, Hot Doug’s: The Sausage Superstore and Encased Meat Emporium, and our guest on this weeks podcast. Doug is quickly becoming regarded as a true hot dog artisan with his creations being extolled by the likes of Anthony Bourdain, who named it one of the 13 Places to Eat Before You Die, Chicago Chef Graham Elliot, and our very own Danger Stewart in a review of Hot Doug’s back in 2010.
Hot Doug’s: The Book has just been published, written by Doug Sohn and Kate DeVivo, it features photos, favorite anecdotes, lessons learned, and contributions from some of Hot Doug’s biggest fans with raves from Paul Kahan, Steve Albini, Dan Sinker, Mindy Segal, Homaro Cantu, Aziz Ansari, and many others.
Doug talks about the challenges of running an eatery, being on T.V., celebrity diners, and more on the podcast.
