Sam Mabley has a “Someday Dream” to transform the fashion industry.

How?

By making ethical clothing affordable AND paying factory workers a fair wage.

Ten years ago, Sam had an epiphany in a fitting room: it was almost impossible to buy ethical clothing on the high street. The year was 2013, and sweatshops and workers' wages were in the headlines. So began his decade-long mission to create clothing that was stylish, sustainable, AND affordable — clothes that did good as well as looked good.

Sam is challenging the belief that ethical fashion has to be expensive. He realized that with a bit of scale, sustainable style could be made more affordable. With that vision—and a little help from his friends — “Yes Friends” was born.

When everyone said ethical clothes had to be pricey, Sam and his small team introduced the world to the £7.99 sustainable T-shirt. The response was overwhelming: over 4,000 T-shirts sold in the first month, attracting national news coverage and recognition from influential figures.

In this episode, you'll meet Sam, the game-changing founder of Yes Friends. He is an ethical entrepreneur, sustainability advocate, and innovative thinker. Sam discusses the challenges and triumphs of building a brand committed to ethical practices without compromising on affordability. From the early days in Bristol to the rapid growth of Yes Friends, his story is one of passion, persistence, and purpose.

Discover how Yes Friends is setting a new standard for ethical fashion, proving that style and sustainability can go hand in hand.
