Actress Jess Hong joins Son of a Binge host Reshma Gopaldas and guest co-host Robert Licuria (Gold Derby) to break down her hit Netflix show 3 Body Problem co-starring Rosalind Chao, John Bradley (Game of Thrones), Alex Sharp, Eiza González, Marlo Kelly, Benedict Wong, Liam Cunningham, Jovan Adepo, Saamer Usmani and more.
Jess stars as Jin Cheng, a theoretical physicist, in 3 Body Problem, which is about a group of young scientists at Oxford University, who uncover an existential crisis that is about to threaten humanity. She chats all about the shows she grew up watching, including Friends, and how Lucy Liu was the actress she looked up to the most. Jess opens up about the interview process behind 3 Body Problem, how creators David Benioff, D.B. Weiss and Alexander Woo tried to surprise her with her casting news over zoom but their surprise took a turn. She chats about what she's learning from Rosalind Chao, chemistry testing with Alex Sharp, and working with Marlo Kelly and the rest of the cast. Plus, she reveals her dream casting for future seasons of 3 Body Problem. She also dissects the relationship between Will and Jin.
Hong tell us she has read all the book 3 Body Problem books by Liu Cixin and makes a confession about what she thinks about the last season of Game of Thrones.
