Steph Katzovi is an author, wife, and the mother of two school-aged boys. She always profoundly believed that she would be an author one day, but her path was very circuitous to reach her goal. She obtained a college degree and then a law degree. She even studied and passed bar exams in two states, but she never actually practiced law. She also worked for many years as a professional speech writer. But Steph knew what her dream and passions were and truly believed in herself. She has written two books for children 11-12 years old. The first is Hurricamp, which is about building friendships at a sleep away camp during a hurricane. Her second book is Miscommunicamp, which involves friendships and disagreements. As Steph says, she hopes that her words and sense of humor elicit a positive emotional experience – one in which readers see themselves in the characters that she has created. Her goal is to promote within children confidence, positivity, and kindness.

Book: Hurricamp; Miscommunicamp
