The murder of Jayland Walker and the July 4th shooting in Illinois provide yet another example of the stark contrast between how American law enforcement treats Black and white people. We feel it's imperative to have these discussions on the pod as atrocities unfold because too often, people read the headlines and the first few sentences of an article, or watch a quick news clip on social media and don't dig any further or question any of the information. In a culture where the only account of a police shooting comes from that police department's own curated evidence, we MUST take it upon ourselves to challenge - this usually starts within our own circles and our own communities. Thank you for being a part of ours.
