Welcome back to Part 2 of our discussion on Equine Breathing with Clare Frost! Clare is based in the UK and she developed the Equine Breathing technique 25 years ago to help her horse, Cool Rain, who had developed severe head-shaking. By applying respiration physiology principles, Clare was able to develop a breathing training technique for the horse and the results were stunning!

She then tried the technique with a windsucker and a pony afflicted by sweet itch who both showed similar success. She realized that this technique could bring relief and improved health to large numbers of horses, and made it available for free to everyone who would like to use it. We continue our discussion with:

  • The importance of understanding the underlying causes of breathing issues in horses
  • Potential of equine breathing for overall horse well-being
  • Carbon dioxide's vital role in enabling the utilization of oxygen in the body
  • How carbon dioxide helps with muscle relaxation
  • The mechanism of equine breathing and carbon dioxide workings in the horses’ well-being
