Ethan Ganc

This week Stephanie Rodin chats with her guest, Ethan Ganc. The two chat about Ethan’s practice, what changed in it during the pandemic, and what he enjoys most about being an attorney.

In this episode, we discuss:

  • How Ethan started a career in law, representing a variety of industries
  • What changed in his practice during the pandemic
  • What positive things that remain in his practice after Covid
  • Ethan’s book recommendations
  • A quick lesson in history
  • What Ethan enjoys most about being an attorney
  • An inspirational story in restructuring

Ethan Ganc has a passion for helping others overcome problems, and this drew him to the practice of law. For more than twenty years, he has provided legal counsel that enables entrepreneurs and C-suite executives to build and maintain healthy businesses.

Ethan began his practice working at one of New York City’s most respected boutique corporate bankruptcy and restructuring firms. It was through this experience that Ethan learned to identify the causes of business distress and work with his clients to address the issues facing their businesses. That ability now enables him to spot issues before they become problems and guide his clients towards healthier business operations.

During his career, Ethan has worked with a variety of businesses, including commercial landlords, real estate investors, equipment leasing and financing companies, general contractors, advertising agencies, apparel manufacturers, lighting manufacturers, and magazine publishers.

Ethan has experience representing these businesses and their owners on a range of matters including serving as outside general counsel; drafting and negotiating commercial lease agreements, vendor contracts, consulting agreements, and non-disclosure agreements, among other; protecting the rights of creditors, including commercial lenders, in all types of bankruptcy proceedings; representing corporate and individual debtors in all aspects of bankruptcy proceedings under Chapters 11, 7, and 13 of the Bankruptcy Code; providing counsel and representation to business owners and individuals about out-of-court alternatives to bankruptcy and asset protection; and prosecuting and defending preference and fraudulent transfer litigation in Bankruptcy Court.
