Dawa Tarchin Phillips will join Spiritual Happy Hour on Friday 5/2/2014 at 1pm Eastern time / 9am Pacific Time. We will talk about the benefits of secular mindfulness meditation in school children and young adults and the applications to leadership. Born in NYC, Dawa Tarchin Phillips grew up in a multicultural family in Europe and speaks English, German and French fluently. Dawa is a visionary leader, researcher and specialist in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at the University of California Santa Barbara, where his research focuses on the cognitive and academic benefits of secular mindfulness in school children, young adults and educational leaders, funded by the U.S. Department of Education. Dawa is the President/CEO of Empowerment Holdings, LLC, a U.S. based international leadership training and consulting firm that trains business leaders and organizations in Mindfulness Based Leadership and Conscious Business Success approaches. He is the founder and board member of The Institute of Compassionate Awareness (T.I.C.A.), a California based 501c3 registered public benefit initiative whose research and activities are centered on secular mindfulness and meditation training, self-esteem/self-confidence development and mindfulness based leadership for children and youth.
