On this episode of The Nomadic Outdoorsman, Dan talks with Bryan Dean, the owner and founder of Shotz Ammunition about what it takes to meet a need in the outdoors space and create a product that will benefit hunters for generations to come.

Brian Dean shares the story of how Shotz Ammo came about, driven by the need for affordable and accessible ammunition for his kids' hunting adventures. He discusses the importance of passing on the hunting tradition to the next generation and the challenges of finding affordable 410 ammo. Brian and his brother-in-law developed their own 410 ammo and launched Shotz Ammunition, which has been well-received by the waterfowl hunting community. They emphasize the importance of building relationships with landowners and being respectful of the land. North Dakota is praised for its abundant wildlife and diverse hunting opportunities. In this conversation, Bryan discusses the science behind their innovative shotgun shells and the impact they have on waterfowl hunting. He explains how their shells, called Pulverizers, deliver a kinetic trauma blow to ducks and geese, resulting in a high kill rate. Bryan also emphasizes the importance of customer service and building relationships with outfitters and hunters. He shares his personal goals of hunting caribou and creating memorable hunting experiences with his children.
