This isn't a podcast about my journey with cancer, but when you get that diagnosis, the first thing you do is check out the 5 year prognosis. What are your chances of being alive in 5 years? It gets pretty dang serious.
Time is short, especially when you are starting over at or after 50 years of age. The options you took for granted when you are young, the assumptions about what it takes to be prosperous, they are all different now. You've got 15-20-25 years left to "make it" to that finish line of retirement. But now you need to make better choices, do a deeper dive on how you will spend your time and what is important in life.
It's your life....it's your ladder... you have all the tools and skills to make it happen, but you're going to have to make fewer mistakes and work harder to fit the hustle into your next 5 years.
