In this Step Into the Circle podcast, HyeJin Yu connects us to the universally human gift of song and the divine power of sound. As a singer, HyeJin explores breaking down the barrier between performer and audience, and how sharing sound connects us. HyeJin’s story of finding her joy through reclaiming her love of signing is beautiful, and her voice is a clear testament to her gift.

HyeJin Yu is a singer, song channeler, and songwriter. Under her musical project, Manjali Light (manjaliight.com), HyeJin released her debut album, Love Has Found Us, in 2016. This 9-song album is a musical journey of life, love, transformation and awakening. Currently, HyeJin is in the process of birthing a new project, Ground in Sound. This project arose from HyeJin s desire to close the gap between performer and audience. While studying as a voice major at University of California at Berkeley, HyeJin was fascinated by ethnomusicological studies of ancient circle singing and trance mediumship. These circles provided tribes with a space where they can sing, dance, commune, worship and talk to God in community. HyeJin s mission is to provide a musical space for community singing so we may all tap into the healing power of voice. Singing is your birthright! Check out her album on Soundcloud, Spotify, Itunes.
