Manage episode 345822292 series 3359382
Everyone has a light, a spark that makes them unique. Sadly not everyone's light is allowed to shine brightly.
Hannah Litt sits down to share her story of life with several hidden diseases. Hannah is a South Asian, Muslim Woman with ADHD, Fibromyalgia, Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension and PCOS. She currently works at Mindweaver as Head of EDIA and Resourcing where she focuses on Mindweaver’s anti-racism strategy. Hannah believes everyone is different and our difference is what makes us amazing and that should be celebrated every day, but we should also be supported, so she focuses on making sure people, systems, and processes are broken and redesigned in equitable ways.
In this episode we discuss:
- The traits, signs & symptoms of ADHD that were present in early children but were sadly missed and not supported
- The negative impact of masking and dispelling myths
- Intersectionality and how this can influence living with invisible conditions
- The role of educators and employers in recognising, accepting and celebrating difference to enable people with neurodiversities to be their authentic self without apology
- The benefits of self-disclosure in the workplace to ensure that people get the support they need
- Psychological safety as one of the missing ingredients
