Welcome to Episode 5 of the Str8 Up Games Podcast and the first in a 2 part run through of the The Game Awards.
A reminder that we're on Instagram and Twitter @str8upgames where you can find all kinds of content from the show.
This week we dance around the games we've been playing and with credits rolled on Ragnarök, it's time to move onto some new ventures. There's a drunken virtual reality night, some comments about the hilarious Soccer Story and The Very Mediocre Spiderman.
A quick unpack of some news includes the first game to release on Unreal Engine 5.1 equipped with Geralt of Rivia, Doom Guy and the Incredible Hulk smashing through 300,000 polygons of a very shiny tree in Fortnite Season 4. We also discuss the price rise on first party Xbox titles and what that means for their promise of continuing support for the Xbox One and Smart Delivery.
Most importantly we've arrived at the station, ready to board the hype train that is The Game Awards. We've picked 10 categories to chat through and make predictions for and we'll see how many winners we get right once the show airs. From Game of the Year to Best Mobile Game, we talk through the contenders and why we think Tunic should win the lot. Added to 10 official categories are 3 of our own, we predict announcements we might see on the night in Most Likely, Most Wanted and Wildcard Pick.
Be sure to tune in next week for our debrief episode where we'll find out how right our predictions were and probably scrape our minds up off the floor having been blown by all of the cool new announcements.

Thank for listening! You can find us @str8upgames on Instagram and Twitter or at www.str8upgames.com
