In this episode, Lisa Foust Prater sits down with Dean and Tillie Thompson at their farm outside Baudette, Minnesota, near the Canadian border. They grow small grains, custom bale hay, and raise around 50 Angus cow-calf pairs and a handful of miniature Scottish Highland cows on 1,000 acres. When they aren’t farming or at their off-farm jobs, the Thompsons dedicate themselves to community service as volunteers for the county fair, 4-H, FFA, Extension, local schools, and their church.
