When was the last time you heard yourself say, “Wow. How did it get to be December already?” In this week’s episode, I am inviting you to consider that it is time to stop surviving. No, I am not saying that surviving is bad; but I’m here to tell you that there is more to life when living fully in the now. This idea of moving beyond survival mode into living fully is the perfect way to kick off the new year for anyone who feels like they are “just getting through the day” between to-do lists, responsibilities, and day-to-day life.

Highlights for Stop Surviving. Start Living.
  • The distinction between survival and living on autopilot (2:30)
  • Life happens. Sometimes survival is the best we can do (3:45)
  • What if there was more to life than just checking things off your list? (3:55)
  • Living fully is a choice we make (4:05)
  • How can birds, muck, mud, and signs teach us to move out of survival and into awakeness? (5:25)
  • What a meeting of hospice workers can remind us about making the most of each moment (14:45)
Your Invitations for This Week
  • Where are you in survival or “just getting by” mode?
  • Tune in to your senses as a way to tap into living fully in the now.
  • Find a moment today to pause and ask yourself, “What do I need to know today?” Be open to receiving what shows up for you as a way to practice living fully in the now.
Coming in January: See You. Be You.
