In this episode, we interview Jim Brillion, a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. Jim will break down CPTSD (Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and many other topics that help the diversity of the clients he helps.

Breaking down the process of obtaining a therapist for the substance abuse populations and taking a deep dive into why he became a therapist.

Jim’s clients reflect the diversity of our community, all genders, orientations, races, backgrounds, and issues. Jim is an LGBT-affirming therapist that specializes in working with that community. Through an integrative and relational approach, Jim also specializes in working with addictions and compulsivity, trauma, men's issues, anxiety, and depression.

Areas of special focus in the practice are Attachment, Mindfulness, and Trauma.

Healing is integration.

Jim will work to help you integrate your past with your present, and your mind with your body. His approach blends developing greater self-awareness with knowledge of how the mind and emotions work, to empower you to create change in your life. He strives to help you learn to better appreciate, understand, and express your emotions. And he hopes to lead you to self-compassion and a more mindful awareness of your life and lived experience. He wants to help you build a life you love, with meaning and an enhanced ability to cope, adapt, and thrive.
