Is It Possible that Meryl Streep Could Play Princess Leia? There’s another Star Wars fan petition circulating. This time, it’s to try to convince JJ Abrams, Lucasfilm, and Disney to recast the character of General Leia with Oscar winning actress, Meryl Streep. The idea seems to have risen from the fact that Streep played a character patterned after Carrie Fisher Postcards From the Edge, which was written by Fisher and loosely based on her relationship with her mother, Debbie Reynolds. Unfortunately, the rumor has hit social media and is being presented as being a real possibility. However, Lucasfilm has already gone on record stating that they will not be replacing Carrie Fisher in Episode IX. https://movieweb.com/star-wars-9-meryl-streep-replace-carrie-fisher-leia/ Experience the 360 Degree Behind the Scenes Story of The Last Jedi Score Star Wars, Rian Johnson, and John Williams have come together to present an immersive, 360 degree YouTube video that allows viewers to jump into the process of recording the score to The Last Jedi. The video can be used on VR devices and allows the viewer to feel as if they’re present during the recording of the score under the conduction of the legendary John Williams. Right on schedule Hope you check #Solo out and find it fun.” And as a result, Twitter fans have begun to once again, see that as a sign that the film will be a failure. https://twitter.com/RealRonHoward/status/979884950848589824 Today in Star Wars History: On this date in 1981, The Empire Strikes Back won an Academy Award for best Sound and a Special Achievement Awards for Visual Effects.
