Deciding where to eat can be extremely difficult, especially when you are on vacation. I always want to try something different when I am on vacation and Mrs. Texas Dad Blog likes to stick to places she knows she will like the food. When I spent the weekend at the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista in Florida which is located literally right across the road from Disney Springs, I was able to try several restaurants at Disney Springs. If you haven’t been to Disney Spring or Downtown Disney as some people still call it, you will be surprised as to all the awesome restaurants located at Disney Springs. Check out the Top 6 Places to Eat at Disney Springs.

Date Night : STK Steakhouse

img_5459

STK is a perfect place for a date night for mom and dad. I would not suggest taking the kids if you are going to be dinning in.

The atmosphere is an upscale dinning option at Disney Springs and when I visited most patrons were dressed business casual. If you are planning on eating at STK be prepared for delicious steak, seafood, and great appetizers. During the evening they have an in house DJ and the lights are dim. It can be a little loud but it suites the restaurant and has a good vibe. Traveling alone to Disney Springs without my family this was a perfect option for me to grab a drink and enjoy a steak. If you have little ones make sure and leave them with a babysitter or if you are going to be dining at STK, ask to be seated upstairs on the rooftop where there is a bit more room and less noisy.

STK is accepting advanced reservations through the Disney World website and some dinning plans are accepted. If you want to include STK in your dinning plan make sure you chose the dinning plan that has STK included in it.

Family Dining: Chef Art Smith’s Homecoming

If you are looking for family and home cooking Chef Art Smith’s Homecoming is the restaurant for you. I was able to eat dinner at Homecoming one night and I ordered the famous fried chicken. The atmosphere does reflect a down home southern family dinner. The restaurant seats quite a few people and has large tables for big groups.

We did not have a reservation but they were able to get us seated within ten minutes and drinks ordered quickly. Unfortunately, our food order got lost and after about 30 minutes our sever came over and apologized for our order not coming out and had the manager bring out a few appetizers. One app he brought over were the deviled eggs (pictured above) and they tasted amazing and just like mom made them at home.

I order the famous fried chicken and it came complete with hot sauces drizzled on it. If you don’t like hot sauce they will ask if you want it on the chicken or on the side. The chicken plate included a drumstick and two fried chicken breasts and two sides. I initially thought it was going to be bone in fried chicken but it wasn’t and I was thoroughly impressed. I don’t like messing with a bone when eating friend chicken and when we make it at home we use chicken breast so I was pleased.

Some Disney dining plans accepted.

Fun and Food: Splitsville

Splitsville is the epitome of fun and food at Disney Springs. You can bowl and eat sushi! Yes, you read that right! Bowling alley sushi, which is delicious by the way. Along with sushi, Splitsvilles offers the traditional bowling alley food such as nachos, burgers, french fries, beer and a full bar.

Book a lane online to avoid the wait-list and some of the Disney dining plans are accepted.

If you are at Disney Springs on a Sunday be sure and catch the House of Blues Gospel Brunch. It offers a brunch buffet complete with salad, peel and eat shrimp, chicken and waffles, and lunch options too.

What the real treat of the Gospel Brunch is local singers singing traditional and contemporary gospel songs. Great food and a good message you can’t go wrong with the House of Blues Gospel Brunch.

Dining plans are accepted at House of Blues, make sure and see if the dinning plan you choose is accepted.

Quick Meals: Earl Of Sandwich

img_1249

When I ate at Earl of Sandwich during lunch time the line wrapped around inside and was out the door. It was fast and the sandwich was good just be prepared for a wait even at quick service places. Just like other Earl of Sandwiches around the country it serves up fresh hot sandwiches with dessert.

I ordered the turkey delight which was like eating Thanksgiving dinner in a sandwich.

Some dining plans accepted are Earl of Sandwich check with your plan to see if you can use it here.

Resort Dining: Lakeview Restaurant

Lakeview Restaurant is located inside Wyndham Lake Buena Vista Resort and offers Disney Character Breakfast Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

With a breakfast buffet, complete with a omelet bar, Mickey waffles, cereal, muffins, fruit, and all you can eat bacon the Disney Character Breakfast is perfect for families.

The best part is that characters stay and entertain the kiddos for as long as the kids want and they don’t mind selfies either.

The Lakeview Restaurant is open daily: Breakfast Daily 7:30 – 10:30 AM and Dinner Daily 5 – 10 PM.

With so many good choices to eat at Disney Spring, where do you like to eat?
