On May 25, 2022, World Series of Poker winner, Cory Zeidman, was arrested on charges of fraud and money laundering related to a sports betting scheme that brought in more than $25 million. From 2004 to 2020, Zeidman placed misleading radio ads claiming to have insider information that made betting on sporting events a no-risk proposition. When listeners contacted the service, they were charged an undisclosed fee for the bogus information.
