Penn & Pops are back with another classic Episode full of all the things; laughs galore, relative (somewhat sarcastic) sports talk, a deep conversation regarding the ‘92 Dream Team and more. Episode 8 is one for the books, friends. We hope you’re ready.
The fellas start the show with some usually ridiculous banner, followed by a great group of shoutouts to some of their personal faves. In the NBA Playoff Recap section, they openly admit they have no clue what to predict as it pertains to the Eastern and Western Conference Finals, but they do discuss a few interesting questions. Who’s the best player left in the NBA? What does another playoff loss mean for CP3’s future and who (in Phoenix) is to blame for their early playoff departure.
Penn & Pops breakdown the upcoming NBA Draft and their perspectives on the Indiana Pacers’ #6 Pick; their first top ten pick since 1989. Depending on the direction GM, Kevin Pritchard, and his staff decides to go, the Pacers are in position to draft a dynamic, versatile, two way playmaker; i.e. Keegan Murray (Iowa), Paolo Banchero (Duke), Shaedon Sharpe (Kentucky). Penn thinks the Pacers should look to draft a player 6’8” or taller as he feels they’re guard heavy and well equipped at the position. Pops thinks it’s based on the best available player. Time will tell.
In The Fine Print segment, Penn & Pops take a dive into the impact of the Dream Team; the 1992 basketball team of NBA Players who took the Barcelona Olympics by storm. Charles Barkley is on record stating he was the 2nd best player on the team and Pops (who was young at the time) was intrigued to know Penn’s perspective. Was “Chuck Barley” (yes that’s on purpose) the 2nd best player on the Dream Team’s squad? What do you guys think?
Enjoy Episode 8, peeps!!
