Jacqueline is joined by Emmy Award winning journalist Richelle Carey, who talks about her emotional journey to motherhood. Richelle shares her personal story about freezing her eggs, going through an unsuccessful round of IVF, and the decision to adopt a child in her late forties. She talks candidly about her initial desire to have a family in the “traditional” sense, but when that didn’t seem to be in the cards, she chose to intentionally pursue her dream of becoming a mother on her own terms. She adopted her son Avery at 49, and she is now enjoying every precious moment of motherhood at age 50. Delayed does not mean denied.
