Sometimes one of the hardest things to figure out is what career path will bring you fulfilment and joy. Sometimes, we think we are headed down one career path, and a detour happens.

Dr. Melissa “Red” Hoffman is an acute care surgeon and palliative medicine physician. She is also a fellow podcaster and the host of The Surgical Palliative Care Podcast, where she features interviews with the founders and the leaders of the surgical palliative care community to provide better care to patients.

In this conversation, Red shares what made her decide to go pursue a career in trauma surgery and palliative care. She shares about her failures and how she overcame difficulties in her career.
