“Wilderness is not a luxury but a necessity of the human spirit, and as vital to our lives as water and good bread. A civilization which destroys what little remains of the wild, the spare, the original, is cutting itself off from its origins and betraying the principle of civilization itself.” -Edward Abbey

Rob Seilheimer & Sam Shoaf join me from Backcountry Hunters & Anglers to discuss federal public lands in the United States. There are literally millions of acres of forest, desert, wetlands, etc., the deed belonging to everyone born in the United States. This land is available for hunting fishing, kayaking, camping, and so much more that we discuss. Rob and Sam also discuss conservation and advocacy efforts to assure the continuance of public lands and the other than human lifeforms that live there. Anyone who uses these lands, whether a hunter or not, will find some great info and lively discussion within the context of this interview. As an added bonus,

Kevin Kurtz, former guest of the podcast joins us to add his experiences with public lands as a "van-life" traveler as he canvases the continental United States, stopping at several BLM (Bureau of Land Management). I hope you all enjoy this episode of TAUAP!
