Analog Devices is a $2.8B semiconductor company. I create systems, tools and training to measure accurate manufacturing costs that drive manufacturing, engineering and design behavior to optimize profit margins. We develop strategic and tactical planning of product portfolios based on the cost data and working with design and marketing teams for future demand and manufacturing and engineering teams for operational execution. Benchmark systems are created to manage financial performance all through the process. I support testing and development of the cost accounting system, which comprehends the unique nuances of process manufacturing of semiconductors. What makes the accounting different from most electronics companies is the yield loss that occurs at all stages along the manufacturing process. Systems must be able to measure the loss at each step and the good units must absorb the cost of the lost units. I am responsible (with my team) for determining the factory cost of over 25,000 parts to the fourth decimal place accuracy. I manage the financials for our site manufacturing plant with over $120M annual budget and over $25M in annual capital expenditures. I manage inventory and reserve analysis for $400M of worldwide inventory.
