Summary. In-depth discussion with UBS Global Wealth Management’s Stephanie Choi about sustainable investing (SI) and finance. The discussion first puts SI into the global context as well as the regional one. Then Stephanie tackles SI products from a variety of perspective. Stephanie also clearly unpacks some of the SI critique which has been grabbing headlines recently and offered her insights as to what SI is supposed to do and what it cannot address. Other areas examined include corporates’ attitudes, SI in Asia in general and in China in particular as well as a longer term “hope” of how SI will develop in the region over the next few decades.
About Stephanie. Stephanie Choi is a Sustainable Investing (SI) Strategist in the Chief Investment Office, Global Wealth Management, UBS. Stephanie was most recently Partner at Sustainable Finance initiative, an investment community that is both a consultancy for regional family offices in impact strategy development and implementation, and an advocacy for broader SI development in Asia. Prior to her specialising in sustainable and impact investing, Stephanie began her career at Citigroup Global Markets, where she gained 11 years’ experience in institutional advisory with a focus on Asian equities & equity-linked products. Stephanie is a graduate of the University of Cambridge (MA Economics) and a SASB FSA Credential holder.
