It's Pride Month, a time in June for the LGBTQ+ community in the United States to celebrate their identities, embrace visibility, and advocate for progress. Today, Liz speaks with Miss Jai Smith, MPH, an advocate for health equity, about gender diversity, historical healthcare barriers for trans and non-binary individuals, and the impact of social stigma and discrimination. They will also discuss legislative impacts and innovative care models. Since 2011, Miss Jai has worked to enhance services for gender-expansive communities and founded Ask Miss Jai in 2022 to train and support healthcare professionals.
