November 29, 2010 - From Alonso Duralde himself: I'm very excited about my new book HAVE YOURSELF A MOVIE LITTLE CHRISTMAS (Limelight Editions), not to mention my 2005 Insight Out Book Club best-seller 101 MUST-SEE MOVIES FOR GAY MEN (Advocate Books). You can currently catch me on IFC's THE GRID; until the recent cancellation of THE ROTTEN TOMATOES SHOW on Current, I was one of that show's recurring film critics, and I was presented the "Lifetime (of the Show) Achievement Award" in 2009. I'm a member of the Los Angeles Film Critics Association and write about film and entertainment for various outlets, including Movieline.com, MSNBC.com, HitFix.com, and MovieFone.com. I also work with several film festivals, including the USA Film Festival/Dallas (where he served as Artistic Director for five years), Outfest, and Sundance, and I also served on the nominating committees for the 2008 (Narrative) and 2010 (Documentary) Independent Spirit Awards. All of which is to say that I've watched my share of screener DVDs.
