McQuade is the former U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Michigan. She is a Legal Analyst for MSNBC and NBC News and Co-host of the Sisters-in-Law podcast. McQuade highlights the tactics used by authoritarians throughout history, such as stressing emotion over reason, exploiting divisions, and normalizing violence. McQuaid believes that technology, media literacy, and a commitment to truth can help combat disinformation and restore unity in society.
