Welcome back to the BraveHer Podcast! This week I'm interviewing my new friend, Dr. Yolanda Kirkham. Dr. Kirkham is an amazing clinician, OBGYN, surgeon, entrepreneur and health advocate for women, those who menstruate and new parents.

She reached out to talk about her new and exciting project where she's the chief medical officer for, Koble Cares. She's an assistant professor at the University of Toronto. She's a media health expert and has been featured on the Marilyn Denis Show a number of times. She loves delivering babies, operating, and appearing in media, and she values her roles as daughter, mother and wife.

In this episode, we chat about:

  • Health information and misinformation
  • How to navigate and manage expectations around birth plans
  • That it's very normal and common for things to not always go exactly as we planned, especially when it comes to pregnancy, labour, birth and parenthood
  • How Koble brings high-quality evidence-based information regarding pregnancy, labour, pelvic floor health, mental health, parenthood and paternity leave
  • The importance of having reliable health professionals and experts that you can rely on regardless of access and geography

If you love this episode be share it with a friend - especially if they're a new or expecting mom!
