The Braw and The Brave is a podcast about people and their passions. Episode 127 is a little bit different. For the past 11 years I have had the privilege and pleasure of working with Airdrie and Coatbridge Amateur Operatic Society choreographing productions such West Side Story, Singin’ in the Rain, Jesus Christ Superstar and Rock of Ages. They are an amazing club who have been treading the boards for over 100 years. They offer a welcoming, inclusive, supportive and fun space for people to unite and create theatre together, working closely with music, drama and dance specialists to create the most incredible shows. ACAOS’s 2020 production of Oklahoma ground to halt two days before opening night back in March and having already started to record an ‘opera week’ episode, I felt it was only right to continue talking to just some of the members, albeit remotely, to capture the magic of this wonderful club and why it has such a special place in the hearts of so many. From memorable moments onstage and off to time capsule treasures, find out what it’s like to be in Team ACAOS! Thank you to Taylor Moyes, Christine Nelson, Jennifer Myszker, John-Ross Weir, Gillian MacKissack, Ross Baxter, Eilish Brand, Lynn Stewart, Nanette Stewart, Katy Angus, Rob Taylor, Bill McCloy, Craig Smith, Kirsten Brodie, Lesley-Anne Smith, Ross McGhee, Steven Struthers, Caley Cheney, MarieAnne McGrattan, Suzanne and Alan Love, Susan and Grant Campbell, Nicola and Gary Young, Lynsay and Ian Young, Kat and Iain Campbell.
