The Braw and The Brave is a podcast about people and their passions. N.B. Contains some strong language Episode 182 is in conversation with Ica Headlam creator and host of the Creative Me Podcast and founder of We Are Here Scotland. Originally from London, now living in Aberdeen, Ica is passionate about connecting with and showcasing other creatives based in and around the North East of Scotland and so started his podcasting journey a few years ago, with 113 episodes recorded to date with an array of talented and interesting guests. In addition to his role as a social worker, he heads up his community interest company, We Are Here Scotland which aims to amplifying the voices of Black and People of Colour artists from across Scotland. With their Creators Fund live until 31st May 2022 and their Rise Up Festival in connection with Aberdeen Performing Arts taking place 13-14th May 2022, we chatted all things creativity and connection, as Ica offered great insight into what has shaped and still inspires him to continue to champion others, as well as challenge the barriers and inequalities faced by BPoC artists and creatives.
