Join us as we talk about Julian's journey of dreaming, doing the work and listening to God's call. This conversation will inspire you and encourage you to do what it takes to live a fulfilling life. Sometimes the plan you have for yourself is not the ultimate plan, but learning how to grow through it and adapt leads you closer to who you are mean't to be.
Julian shares incredible insight on how he became a dreamer and what dreaming looks like now.
Episode Notes
-God brought us together and for the perfect reason and time
-Julian was always gifted, and God given talents in sports and education
-His work ethic started at a young age
-The realization that his motives were not as God has desired. The spotlight he acquired was self focused.
-Now he is stewarding these talents, work ethic and convictions by teaching others
-Dreaming didn't naturally occur as a child, because as a child his parents created a "dream like" world
-Dreaming for himself came later, when his parents stopped supplying the dream
-The life Julian had as a child was not going to sustain him as a teen or an adult. He worked at a young age for what he desires.
-Went through several dreams of careers until he landed on News Anchor
-Becoming a News Anchor was bringing him back to the spotlight and away from what God was calling him to
-He had always had a camera in his hand, but pushed back because it wasn't "the spotlight"
-God forced his hand, with his gifts behind the scenes and helping create it for others
-Couldn't imagine putting Julian and I together to create this podcast and make such an impact
-Julian's life and everything has to be a God story
-Never felt real pain until Julian's back surgery, he carried a "super hero" complex as a youth (10 injuries prior to back surgery)
-His injury is what saved him from going down an empty road
-Felt that pressure as a youth to "show up" and be present for your team
-"Showing Up" isn't always physical and there are many ways you can show up
-Julian was obedient in God's call to do something different to get something different. Took him 3x to listen!
-Realizing after college that building his career around himself wasn't lucrative nor fulfilling
-Julian's Mom was an incredible example of how to LOVE the Lord and lean into him and rely on his strength and NOT her own understanding
-The revelation of who you are mean't to be and become is in the intentional opportunities and moments God provides. For Julian it was through a camera!
-God gives you crazy ideas, but they are not for anybody else but you!
-Allowing himself to be stripped of who he was to become the Julian he was mean't to be
-Are you willing to deal with the loneliness on this journey of all you desire?
-Having no regrets means you believe in God's plan for you. If you do have regrets are you doubting Gods plan?
-God may be block your blessing to bless you bigger at a later time
-If you feel lost, or can't find the will to keep dreaming- do something different, try something new
The beach is Julian's best recommendation to spend time with others, discover yourself and find peace. Chicken Salad Chick - Chicken Kailyn is his favorite sandwich. Located here in Wilmington.
