They started with a small group of 6 people each Sunday.

The purpose? Get out in nature, connect with each other, heal, and to feel.

Little did Ryan know that in less than 1 year, they would have over 100 people coming up to the nearby mountain reservoir in the mountains of Northern Utah each Sunday.

Ryan Hymas works in the recovery community helping recovering addicts like himself who are trying to get clean and change their lives. He's a father, husband, brother, and man who has one hell of a story. Once out of control and addicted to drugs like heroin and opiates, he now helps people become free from the demons that keep them in shackles.

How are they doing it?

Through the cold ice water.

It began as a small informal gathering at the reservoir each Sunday morning where they'd meet for a small meditation and then cold dip in the reservoir, but as the waters got colder, they had to get more creative. Each Sunday, they ceremonially break through the ice again, forging a 10x6 foot hole where each person can jump on the ice water as a sort of cleansing ritual. The ONLY rule of the entire gathering is that there is ZERO judgement. Some people get in for a few seconds, some stay in for minutes, but all are having transformational experiences.

We go deep in this episode. It's a beautiful story of:

-Overcoming our personal demons

-People helping people with nothing but pure love

-How the ice water heals pain and emotional trauma

-How servant leadership is the best leadership

-And much, much more.

This is an emotional episode. Whether you are facing your own addiction or just trying to help heal and grow yourself, there's something for every listener in this episode. I know you'll enjoy it as much as I did.
