Call it what you will. The dot-com bubble, the tech bubble or the internet bubble. Either way, these words bring a lot of hurt to a lot of investors. In March 2002, the NASDAQ was down 78% from its all-time high in March 2000. From the year 1995 to 2000 the NASDAQ itself sent Wall St into a buying frenzy as the index rose 400%. Everyone wanted a piece of the hottest tech start-up, hoping to pick up a 10x investment and bragging rights for years to come. But what happened next left the egos of many crushed to never return. Companies like pet.com and webvan disappeared off the face of the earth. Never to be seen again. Established companies like Cisco copped an 86% loss on its share price whilst the likes of eBay and Amazon also took a battering, but managed a quick recovery. In a game where history tends to repeat itself, it may come as a surprise that we are making the bold claim that the tech bubble will never happen again.
