Tara Robinson, the Founder of the Black Heart Association, has had first-hand experiences with heart disease. At 5’2”, 125 lbs, Tara was the picture of perfect health, yet lurking beneath her permanent incandescent smile, her heart was quietly painting a different picture. At just 40 years old, this vibrant, active young educator suffered three heart attacks within days of each other. Her crisis was so severe that, instead of the normal 6 weeks, she required 12 weeks of cardiac rehab.

As a former National Spokeswoman for the American Heart Association, Tara uses her platform as a key proponent to advocate for improved eating habits, exercise, and understanding the causes of poor heart health. She partnered with AHA to share the ugly truth about heart disease as well as promoting heart disease prevention and education to the under-served.

Tara Robinson is a U.S. Army Veteran, educator, and licensed school counselor. She holds a Master of Education (M.Ed.) and a Bachelor of Arts from accredited universities. She became Certified as a Restorative Practitioner l, and Certified Trauma Informed Practitioner, to coach adults towards healing emotionally, mentally, and physically. Mrs. Robinson is also a recognized for Crisis Intervention, where she has been using non medical methods to coach individuals since 2010. Part of the curriculum that she uses comes from, “Lipstick and Coffee: Erasing the Stains,” a book that she authored. Numerous international, national, and regional media outlets like ABC News, Yahoo News, have documented her near-death experiences.
