Attention: Copywriter, marketer, or solo entrepreneur...
Copywriter, John Williamson sold his shoes to help get his first copywriting clients!
Join experienced copywriter John Williamson as he talks specifically about the BUSINESS of copywriting, the MINDSET of the copywriter, and how, speaking from his own experience, a copywriting business owner can get paying clients (and why you should not discount the old fashioned 'letter in an envelope with postage stamp' method of finding new clients).
Some 31 years ago John Williamson came across a book written by Dan Kennedy called, 'The Ultimate Sales Letter.'
Reading that book changed his life – and he shares stories about those changes online and in his Copywriting 'Bullfighters' newsletter.
One of the biggest lessons he learned from Dan Kennedy wasn’t really about writing copy ...
It was his attitude to running a copywriting/marketing consultancy business.
Somewhere Kennedy said, (paraphrased) "When you go looking for clients you should do it like a bullfighter stepping into the bullring with mustard on the end of their sword".
A typically good graphic/metaphor from Kennedy.
What he was saying was ‘go looking for clients with a winning attitude’.
The term Copywriting ‘Bullfighters’ is John Williamson's referential nod to Dan Kennedy’s early influence on John Williamson's approach to marketing, copywriting and consulting services.
