I truly believe that people enter your life for a reason, and I must say Barbie is one of those people… Barbie is a Maternal Empowerment Coach as well as a Restorative Justice Advocate.

The Government of Canada defines restorative justice as, “an approach to justice that focuses on addressing the harm caused by crime while holding the offender responsible for their actions, by providing an opportunity for the parties directly affected by the crime – victims, offenders and communities – to identify and address their needs in the aftermath of a crime….

Restorative justice is based on an understanding that crime is a violation of people and relationships. The principles of restorative justice are based on respect, compassion and inclusivity. Restorative justice encourages meaningful engagement and accountability and provides an opportunity for healing, reparation and reintegration.”

Barbie’s journey began in the summer of 2016 when her youngest daughter was raped. During this time Barbie realized in order to be able to help her daughter heal, she had to first heal herself.

Over the course of the next few years, and a lot of work, Barbie and her daughter fought for Restorative Justice. In this conversation Barbie shares about their journey and the success and healing they have had from this experience.

Barbie has a powerful story that truly effected me on a deeper level - it is an honour to be able to share it with you on this platform.
During our conversation we chatted about:

  • Barbie shares about her journey to becoming an empowerment coach
  • the need for a wise woman archetype within our society
  • society’s views of aging and the implications it has
  • advice for stepping into our Divine Feminine
  • Toxic Femininity & viewing other women as competition
  • the biggest challenges she faced with Restorative Justice
  • how to have forgiveness when you have been hurt so deeply / healing through love
  • the effect the patriarchy has had on both men & women
  • how to let go of limiting narratives I no longer align with
  • Restorative Justice - what is it and her experience with it
