We tell the odd story of the Haitian-born adopted Canadian fighter who came to another country, as a small child, grew up in foster care, and ran the streets, putting himself in all kinds of dangerous situations. He ended up becoming a world champion boxer, with an exciting, crowd-pleasing style, and a growing fan base.
Sounds like the dream, right? Well, there was a very murky past, that people weren't aware of. Like doing time in prison, for absolutely horrific, and downright disgusting crimes! Once it all comes out, no one looks at him the same, despite his winning ways.
Finally, his career is ended by a series of punches that puts him in a coma, and makes his survival anything but assured, but the question remains is it a story of retribution for past transgressions or redemption for turning his life around after being on death's door?
