McKenna Peterson is both a professional skier and the captain of a Salmon fishing boat in Alaska. She shares the sudden loss of her dad in an avalanche in 2016, and the difficult decision to take over her dad’s fishing boat and follow in his footsteps. In her words, “gratitude is greater than grief,” and the life she lives because of her dad’s influence far outweighs the grief of his passing and hardship of her career paths.
