On this week's episode of The Empire Boxing Podcast boxing coach and co-founder of Hero Academy, Jaime Ward dials in from Vancouver and joins host Jana Finkbiner to talk about her boxing journey. Jaime began boxing in 2005 at the Astoria Boxing Club and competed in over 50 matches in her amateur competitive career. She was a repeating BC Champion, North West Champion, Golden Gloves Champion, 2 time National Bronze Medalist and a member of the National Team in 2010. In 2012 Jaime turned pro, winning her debut and by early 2014 she was ranked #2 in Canada. Jaime’s an active feminist and advocate of women’s rights with a focus on eliminating gender bias and micro aggression in male dominated sports and industries while providing support and a safe space for women to train.
