“But…are your kids getting enough socialization??” Questions like these are not uncommon to Iviana, who’s been homeschooling her kiddos since Kindergarten. There are plenty of valid questions and concerns when it comes to educating at home, and that’s why I wanted to have Iviana on the show! In Part 1, she opened up to us about her journey with becoming a homeschooling family. It wasn’t necessarily the path she had picked out for herself, but now she wouldn’t have it any other way! Today on the show, she’s breaking down how homeschooling actually works. To view the full show notes, continue reading here or visit my website: www.heartfelthippie.com

How much does homeschooling cost? Where do you find a good homeschooling curriculum? How do you teach kids of multiple ages at once? And of course, how do you ensure that your kids are getting a good education and will be college-ready? These are just a few of the questions I had prepared for Iviana to answer. If you’re like me, homeschooling sounds like a daunting task. I’ve met many a homeschooling mama and said to myself, “I could never do that!” But in this episode Iviana truly helped to demystify the process and make it seem so much more accessible for all kinds of parents.

One of my favorite takeaways from the show (and something I didn’t previously know about homeschooling) is just how much you can adapt it to the needs of you and your children. Be it the time frame you’re doing school in or the lessons themselves, there are ways to make homeschooling work for nearly any family. Whether you’re a parent, a prospective mommy or daddy, or even just a curious public school worker, Iviana sheds some great insight and leaves us with lots of advice on homeschooling. If 2020 has taught us anything, it’s that we all can stand to be prepared to educate at home because we never know what’s coming!
