To write exophonically, first you need to read lots in the language you're seeking to write in.
In this episode I talk about:
-How I wasn't a reader growing up and became one only recently.
-Changing schools mid-first grade and having to quickly adapt to cursive (when all I new was printed letters).
-The first book I ever read on my own and liked:
Dailan Kifki by María Elena Walsh
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/311950.Dailan_Kifki
-How I used to think I needed to read all the classics to "earn" the right to read modern authors. 🤦‍♀️
-Some of my favourite books:
Fiction:

  • Neil Gaiman - everything he does!
  • Alissa Nutting - Tampa
  • Madeleine Ryan - A Room Called Earth
  • Sarah Crossan - One (she writes novels in verse!)

Non- fiction:

  • James Clear - Atomic Habits
  • Mark Mason - The subtle art of not giving a f*ck
  • Natalie Goldberg - Writing down the bones

All this and more. Listen on :D
