Lola North, founder of North Star Productions, LLC., is a professional dancer/choreographer from Capitol Heights, MD. She began her dance career at Marcellus Dance Studio, where she learned the foundation of ballet, modern, jazz, African, and hip hop. She later attended Suitland High School for the Visual & Performing Arts, where she was exposed to the world of dance in ways that changed her life forever. She persistently attended the University of the Arts summer intensive, other profound annual dance conferences, and festivals which heavily influenced her love for choreography. Some of her most proud performances were held on stages such as: Duke Ellington School of the Arts, the Howard Theater, BET Blaze the Stage, Publick Playhouse, Show Place Arena and many other places. Lola, recently showcased an original piece entitled Matthew 20:16, Strange Fruit, at the historical Howard Theater. This piece also placed her as a recipient of the 36th Annual Choreographers Showcase at the Clarice Performing Arts Center and winner of the Audience Choice Award for overall performance. She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology, from Morgan State University which heavily influences her deep approach to choreography. She will receive her MFA in Choreography in the year 2021.
